YOS — Your Operating System
YOS is a personal operating system for life. Not an app, not a planner — an AI-powered environment that covers everything: work and projects, health and habits, finances, relationships, personal growth, and mental well-being. Built on plain text files, git, and Claude.
More than a productivity tool
Most systems stop at tasks and habits. YOS goes further. It knows your values, goals, and current situation. It tracks what’s going well and what’s falling apart. It asks how you’re doing — and actually uses the answer.
Having a rough day? The system notices and adjusts. It won’t push you to check off tasks when what you need is to slow down and reflect. It offers support, helps you journal through difficult moments, and connects patterns you might not see yourself — like how sleep affects your focus, or how a stalled project is tied to a deeper conflict.
How it works
Everything lives in a git repository as markdown files. Areas of life, active projects, daily journal, habit logs, financial records, weekly reviews. The AI reads all of this and operates within your full context — it remembers what happened yesterday, last week, and three months ago.
The interaction is natural. Say “good morning” and it runs a morning routine — checks in on how you slept, reviews your calendar and tasks, proposes a plan. Say “I’m struggling” and it shifts into a different mode entirely.
Why this approach
Plain text means no lock-in, full programmability, and complete transparency. Git means every change is tracked — you can look back and see how your priorities shifted, what habits stuck, what fell off. And AI-native from day one means the system was designed to be read and written by an assistant, not retrofitted with a chatbot plugin.
The result is something that feels less like a tool and more like an operating system upgrade for your entire life.
